Welcome to the NEW Gold Panner Resort and Campground. Recently purchased in November of 2015 by Kingfisher Heliskiing, we are excited to be calling the great community of Cherryville our home. We are firmly committed to treating you to our high level of customer service and friendly hospitality.

Since buying the Gold Panner we have started to add our own little touches to the iconic Cherryville landmark to enhance your guest experience. Please drop in to our Cafe and Campground and say “Hi” while checking out our little piece of BC paradise. We are on Highway 6 between the Thompson/Okanagan and Kootenay/Rocky regions.

Campground and Gold Pan Cafe are OPEN!

Hikes, Food, Attractions and Relaxation

Take a leisurely hike on our extensive trail system bordering the pristine Monashee and Heckman Creeks. Walk through pristine forests of cedar, larch, cottonwood, hemlock and pine trees. Try to catch a glimpse of the local wildlife while exploring the old Gold mining remains, or just sit and relax in the peaceful settings of the resort. Visit our gift shop to grab a souvenir. Try some of our great home cooked meals in the cozy Gold Pan Cafe. Look at some history in the Cherryville Historical Society Museum (contingent on them having a volunteer on staff).

There are also many incredible outdoor activities only a short drive away. Visit Keefer, Echo, Sugar or Mabel Lakes. All offer perfect conditions for boating, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, swimming, and fishing.

This area has also been dubbed by some, the hiking capital of Canada. Hike the Twin Creek, Camels Hump, Mount Beaven, Monashee Lake, Pinnacle Lake, Vista Pass, Spectrum Lake trails or go for the big time and do the Mark Berger traverse.

For a more leisurely pace visit a local farm to try some cheese and fresh produce, check out the local wares made by Cherryville artisans, or grab a game of golf. Before driving off to your next destination fill your tank and stock up on other essentials at locally owned convenience stores: Frank’s General Store and the Cherryville Emporium.

A Unique BC Camping Experience

Founded on a Chinese heritage mining operation, the grounds are steeped with history dating back to 1840. Chinese immigrants, who left the California gold rush, came to this historic site and mined gold for the emperor of China. Later in 1863, there was a small community consisting of two houses and one cabin on a claim belonging to Pion and Louis.  By 1895, the location had grown into a small mining camp located deep within the canyon walls of Cherry Creek.

Today the Gold Panner Resort still holds many treasures, not all of them gold.

Experience Highway 6

Highway 6, between Lumby and Nakusp, known as the famous Powder Highway to snow lovers, is one of the best motorcycle routes in British Columbia and the world! The ups and downs of this winding mountain highway offer an exciting and scenic trip. From the rolling desert hills and orchards of the Okanagan Valley on the west side, through to the majestic foothills of the Monashee Mountains and Monashee Pass down to the Needles/Fauquier Ferry in the east, Highway 6 serves as the gateway to the Kootenays. Crossing Lower Arrow Lake on the Needles/Fauquier ferry provides some amazing scenery for your journey as you head to the idyllic community of Nakusp at the foot of the Selkirk Mountains.

The Gold Panner Resort and Campground is located centrally along the Highway 6 Circle route. We offer the first services west of the Needles/Fauquier ferry.
